International Students' Workshop
Urban Imaginaries

The international workshop "Urban Imaginaries", conceived by Kerstin Meincke and Bhooma Padmanabhan, brought together students from Indian and German Universities from the fields
of architecture, art history / education and photography.
Besides approaching new topics and methods, the students explored transcultural avenues of thought through the experience of international working groups. The results were put together to an
"associative map" of urban imaginaries that entangles the Chennai region and the Ruhr Area, published in the catalogue of CPB III: Maps of Disquiet.
Participating universities and supervisors: Anna University, Chennai, India: School of Architecture and Planning (Dr. Kiranmayi Raparthi and Prof. Naveen); University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany: Institute for Art and Art History (Kerstin Meincke and Prof. Dr. Gabriele Genge); Folkwang University of Arts, Essen, Germany: Photography Department (Prof. Elke Seeger).
Guests included Yuvan Aves, Ram Rahman, Tim Rieniets, Thirupurasundari Sevvel, Oliver Sieber, Katja Stuke, and Nico Joana Weber
Parts of the programming were open for the public.
